Intertek Adds Photovoltaic Lab in Northern California

Provider of safety solutions, Intertek has added a photovoltaic lab in Northern California that extends the company’s PV/solar testing and certification abilities.

The PV lab, located at the company’s existing lab in Menlo Park, California, will include an impact and mechanical loading apparatus, a rain room, environmental chambers, and solar simulators.

Intertek offers PV/solar certification and testing services through partners in Europe. In addition, the company has tripled the PV/solar capacity in North America through the new facility. The extra capacity in Silicon Valley will allow the company to offer reliability and performance test programs as well as PV module certification.

The IECEE CB Scheme accreditation of the Menlo Park PV plant enables Intertek to perform a series of tests that will offer market access to over 40 countries that take part in the CB scheme. The PV lab in Menlo Park provides Safety, EMC and Semiconductor testing and certification services.
