Saturn Selects AIXTRON MOCVD Reactor for Solar Cell Production

Russia-based company, Saturn has placed a new order for AIXTRON’s MOCVD reactor system for solar cell production. The order includes an AIX 2800 G4-R 15x4’’ configuration deposition system with an automated wafer transfer platform.

The delivery of the AIXTRON MOCVD reactor is scheduled to be in the Q2 of 2011. The reactor will be utilized for manufacturing Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) solar cell epitaxial materials for the space market in Russia. In addition, the AIXTRON Europe support team will commission the MOCVD system in a dedicated plant together with the currently used AIXTRON reactor at Saturn’s Krasnodar manufacturing plant.

Saturn’s Director General, Anatoly Skursky stated that the company is pleased with the ease of operation and performance offered by the AIXTRON system. Skursky added that AIXTRON helped the company in achieving the complete production status in a short period of time.
