CommScope Demonstrates 100 GE Data Transmission Over 340-Meter Multi-Mode Fiber Optic Cable

Infrastructure solution company, CommScope has demonstrated a Gigabit Ethernet (GE) data transmission across a 340-meter multi-mode fiber optic cabling with seven MPO connections.

By partnering with Reflex Photonics and Ixia, CommScope gave the demonstration with the SYSTIMAX LazrSPEED multi-mode fiber cabling, at Cisco Live! in London.

The 340-meter link enabled the doubling of the transmission range of the 100 GE standard using the integration of advanced optoelectronics and connectivity solutions. CommScope presented the demonstration in public, instead of the indoor laboratory environments.

CommScope provides various network infrastructure platforms that allow enterprise customers to utilize technology and business opportunities. The company’s Uniprise and SYSTIMAX provide converged connectivity, video, data and voice solutions for high-bandwidth and developing applications.
