Fiberguide Releases Graded Index Optical Fibres for Telecommunications Applications

Manufacturer of optical transmission fibres and arrays, Fiberguide Industries has introduced a new line of AGI Graded Index Silica core/ Silica clad optical fibres for data communication links.

The fibres offer ease of termination for step-index multimode fibres and provide increased bandwidth as single mode fibres.

Fiberguide’s AGI Series provides high bandwidth, which can be used with low-cost LEDs and is suitable for using in medium distance data communication links including LANs. The company provides coatings for reliable operation in harsh temperature environments including -269ºC to +700ºC for gold, -269ºC to +400 ºC for aluminium and 190ºC to +350 ºC for polyimide.

The fibres come in various sizes to meet consumer applications. The AGI Series 62.5/125 features clad diameters from 125 µm + 1 µm/-3 µm and core diameters from 62.5 µm ± 3 µm. In addition, the AGI Series 50/125 has clad diameters from 125 µm ± 1 µm/-3 µm and core diameters from 50µm ± 3µm.
