Stion’s CIGSS Solar Panels Receive UL and IEC Certification

Manufacturer of thin-film solar panels, Stion has obtained the ANSI / UL 1703 and IEC 61646 certification for the 120 and 110 W thin-film, CIGSS solar panels.

The company’s Elevation Series panels are the most efficient and the largest monolithically integrated CIGSS panels to obtain the complete certification for commercial purposes.

The solar panels from Stion feature enhanced black aesthetics and a simple form factor with dimensions of 65 x 165 cm. The panels are suitable for use in key market segments such as off-grid, utility, residential and commercial/government.

Stion has announced a new manufacturing facility located in Mississippi, with a first phase 100 MW expansion by the year 2012. Currently, the company manufactures its solar panels in California.

Stion’s CEO and President, Chet Farris stated that the company is pleased to receive the certification for its solar panels. He added that the company is delighted to offer fully certified solutions to its consumers.
