GAO Fiber Optics Unveils Optical Transceivers for SONET/SDH Systems

GAO Fiber Optics, provider of fiber-optic test instruments, has unveiled a new range of multi-mode optical transceivers that feature improved immunity to electromagnetic interference.

1x9 Optical Transceiver

The low-cost 1x9 optical transceivers are suitable for a number of applications such as ATM and SONET/SDH systems and fast Ethernet communication.

The optical transceivers operate at 1310 nm and over a maximum distance of 2 km on optical fibers. The modules include driver and FP ICs that have automatic power control circuitry and temperature compensation features. They also feature transimpedance with AGC and PIN photodiodes for a wide dynamic range.

The optical transceivers comply with Telcordia GR-468-CORE, IEC 60825-1, ITU-T G.958 and ITU-T G.957 specifications. They also comply with SONET/SDH recommendations, ranging from OC-01 to OC-03. The modules can also be utilized with RoHS-compliant products.
