Superior Essex Introduces All-Dry Loose Tube Optical Fiber Cables

Superior Essex, a leading producer of cables and wires, has launched a new gel-free loose tube optical fiber cable series called Dri-Lite.

Dri-Lite

The company has expanded its Dri-Lite ribbon fiber cable product portfolio with the introduction of the latest outside plant fiber optic cable design. The Dri-Lite loose tube optical fiber cable comes with fiber count range of 12 to 288 in all-dielectric and armored cable configurations.

The fully dry cables use space-conserving 2.5 mm buffer tubes that comprise uniquely engineered super absorbent yarn, which bloats on water contact and obstruct the entry of water. Certain customers prefer all-dry fiber optic cable design as it weighs less than gel-filled cables and eradicate the requirement for gel removal during the deployment process.

The Dri-Lite product series meets the fiber optic cable requirements of both Rural Development Utilities Program (RDUP) standard 1753F-601 (PE-90) and Telcordia GR-20. The RDUP officially approved the Dri-Lite products and will list in its website in the upcoming update.
