RSL Fiber Systems’ Optical Fiber Illumination System Recognized as Technology Innovation of 2010

Frost & Sullivan has awarded the 2010 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for Technology Innovation of the Year to the US-based lighting company, RSL Fiber Systems. The award was based on Frost & Sullivan’s recent study on the remote source lighting market.

The fiber optic light distribution and delivery system from RSL Fiber Systems is a suitable system for safe lighting applications in hard to reach or remote locations and explosive or hazardous environments. The company developed and designed the optical fiber designs, light coupling technologies and proprietary components and also increased the production processes to assemble and combine the systems. In addition, RSL Fiber Systems has numerous patents in process for the new solid state lighting-based technology.

RSL Fiber Systems' technology includes several illumination system components that use efficient, long-distance optical fiber to provide light non-electrically and safely to a non-electrical, passive luminaire in unsafe locations. In addition, it can propel bright light across long distances of 1000 feet.
