Winbro Group Technologies Receives JK604D Laser for Turbine Components Applications

Manufacturer of machining technologies, Winbro Group Technologies has received JK Lasers’ JK604D laser that is suitable for use in process development for various turbine components.

Integrated as a Winbro DELTA 5-axis laser drilling machine, the new laser provides enhanced focusability, increased peak powers and power densities.

The process development of turbine components necessitates cooling holes in the industrial gas turbine and aero industries. The turbine components include combustors, flame tubes, segments, vanes and turbine blades.

Winbro chose the JK604D laser because of enhanced beam quality delivered by the laser. The laser allows manufacturers to drill improved cooling holes with a wide range of profiles, less heat affected zones (HAZ) at minimal cycle times. The company intends to install the laser system in its new facility located in South Carolina. This facility will introduce Winbro’s laser drilling machines in the US.
