Manufacturer of semiconductor solutions, Diodes Incorporated has released a new LED driver that supports AC input voltages from 85 to 265 V.
The AL9910 LED driver uses a high-voltage process technology that enables it to withstand maximum voltage surges of 500 V. The driver has an inbuilt over-temperature protection that enhances the system reliability.
The AL9910 LED driver is offered in a high power dissipation exposed pad SO-8 and a standard SO-8 packages. The exposed pad SO-8 model substantially increases the unit’s reliability by reducing the rise in temperature, making it ideal for exterior and interior off-line lighting products.
The LED driver offers a PWM dimming input and a linear dimming input for controlling the brightness of the LED. The linear dimming input is controlled by applying a DC control voltage, while the PWM dimming input accepts a control signal that has a duty ratio between 0% and 100%.
The LED driver features an inbuilt voltage regulator that delivers a gate drive to shield the switching MOSFET. It functions at a maximum switching frequency of 300 kHz and offers an output between few mA and 1 A through an external MOSFET.
