Hamamatsu Photonics announced that it has launched a new board-level camera that integrates low noise, high speed, high sensitivity, and high resolution.
The C11440-50B board-level camera features a FL-280 CMOS image sensor and is ideal for OEMs. The company showcased the C11440-50B OEM camera at the Photonics West conference that was held in San Francisco.
The 2.8 megapixel CMOS image sensor has a pixel size of 3.63x3.63 µm that assures high resolution. The wavelength sensitivity of the sensor ranges from UV to NIR with peak sensitivity between 450 nm and 500 nm. The sensor, in addition to having a dynamic range of 4500:1, also has a less readout noise at high readout speeds, unlike conventional CMOS and CCD image sensors. The readout speed ranges between 45 fps and 1273 fps.
The two IEEE1394b interfaces in the camera provide a cost-effective power and communication interface. The C11440-50B camera is ideal for various applications such as real-time confocal microscopy, TIRF, FISH, FRET microscopy, and high-speed calcium imaging.
