IRT Electronics Introduces Dual Gigabit Ethernet to Optical Fibre Transceiver

IRT Electronics has unveiled a new dual Gigabit Ethernet to optical fibre transceiver called the EOT-4581. The transceiver module functions as a dual Gigabit Ethernet to fibre optic transmission link by utilizing 9/125 single mode fibres that have maximum optical path losses of 31 dB.

The IRT EOT-4581 is compliant to the IEEE 802.3z standard for Gigabit Ethernet over optical fibre, and the IEEE 802.3ab standard Gigabit Ethernet over CAT-5 cable. The transceiver is integrated on a single card, enabling dual bi-directional communication across two or one single mode fibre optic cables.

The two-fibre module comes in a main base-board of EOT-4581 with individual SFPs and diverse wavelengths. For remote monitoring, it includes the SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol), when it is utilized in combination with the IRT 4000 series frame that features the SNMP function. In addition, the EOT-4581 Eurocard module is compatible with IRT 4000 series frames or 1RU frame.
