Aide Solar, photovoltaic module manufacturer, has started the Phase 2 expansion of the mono and poly crystalline solar cell and PV module-manufacturing factory, located in Xuzhou, China. This move is as part of the company’s plan to maximize the customer base across the globe.
The expansion marks the addition of a 947,225 square foot manufacturing facility to support a module capacity of 2 GW in one roof. The production at the facility will begin in the Q4 of 2011. Followed by the conclusion of the Phase 2 construction, the current facility of Aide Solar in Xuzhou will be upgraded to support solar cell manufacturing lines only, which would permit the ramp-up of cell production in the future. The new solar module facility and the existing facility are situated on a campus held by The PANJIT Group, which is the parent company of Aide Solar.
Aide Solar’s Director of World Sales and Marketing, Eddy Fang stated that the ramp-up of the solar module manufacturing capacity would allow the company to have more effect on the supply of other energy options.
