GAO Rolls Out Visible Red Laser Diode Fault Locator for Optical Network

GAO Fiber Optics, a provider of fiber-optic test instruments, has launched a new energy-saving, compact visible fault locator.

Visible Fault Locator

The 811 red laser diode visible fault locator is ideal for finding faults in couplers, connectors, enclosures, patch panels, and fiber jumpers. The unit is suitable for utilization in optical network maintenance and deployment.

The 811 visible fault locator has a handheld laser source and differentiates the faults in distribution frames, jumper boards, and fiber jumpers. It overcomes OTDR’s restriction of the dead zone to precisely identify the fiber fault positions. The visible fault locator utilizes visible light to point out the fault location from a mechanical splice, connector, problem coupler, or a macro bend point that is not properly aligned.
