Jenoptik has introduced new series of optical isolators for high-power laser applications. High isolation and small loss values are the salient features of the optical isolator. The isolator attains high power values and has least effect on the beam aspects.
Three kinds of optical isolators within the wavelength range between 1,030 and 1,085 nm are now offered. Two types with a rated power of 200 and 20 W are for linearly polarized radiation and the third type with a rated power of up to 400 W is for non-polarized radiation. The third product has an interface that is hermetically sealed for effortless inclusion in processing optics for industrial setting.
All three kinds of optical isolators can attain a transmission of more than 95% with fewer non-linear and thermal effects and an isolation of 30 to 40 dB. This can be attained by using optics having small dimensions, lowest absorption and powerful, homogenous magnetic fields simultaneously. The optical isolators are designed to operate within an average power range.
The optical isolators can be used for ultra reflective material process that uses high-laser-gain laser sources such as brilliant diode, fiber and slab lasers. The isolators can also be utilized to separate a number of components inside the laser sources such as regenerative amplifiers and amplifier configurations.
