X-ES Launches Dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet XMC Module for Embedded-Computing Applications

Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) has introduced a new dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet XMC that includes a rear or front-panel I/O support for dual-optical or fiber-optic connectors.

The air-cooled XPort3300 is suitable for sturdy, embedded-computing applications including data offloading, traffic aggregation, storage, and remote sensor interfacing.

A x8 PCI Express 2.0 port offers a high-speed interface connecting the host module and the XPort3300 through the P15 connector. The XPort3300 includes x8 PCI Express 2.0 interface to connect the host module per VITA 42.3 and is compatible with dual rear 10GBASE-T interfaces via the P16 connector.

The XPort3300 comprises an Intel 82599 dual 10GbE controller and uses X12d I/O mapping per VITA 46.9. In addition, it includes a Front-panel I/O designed for the 10GbE interfaces with one RJ-45 10GBASE-T connector or dual-optical, fiber-optic and SFP+ connectors. The dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet XMC is designed to scales from a commercial, air-cooled version to a conduction-cooled version as per the environmental test methods.
