GAO Fiber Optics Unveils 5101 Visual Fault Locator for Fiber-Optic Network

Provider of fiber-optic test instruments, GAO Fiber Optics has launched a new visual fault locator (VFL) that is ideal for optical fiber network maintenance in CATV and telecommunication systems.

5101 Visual Fault Locator

The 5101 visual fault locator is suitable for both multi-mode and single mode fiber. It identifies micro-bends and breaks through jacketed fiber and features end-to-end visual fiber recognition.

The visual fault locator provides wavelengths between 640 nm and 660 nm. It has a universal connector and a rugged design and has the ability to inspect all types of bunched pigtails, ribbons, or patch cords in the maintenance and installation of fiber-optic networks. The VFL has a maximum measurement range of 5 km and features an operational time of 30 hrs on a single charge.
