Panduit has launched a sophisticated multimode fiber communications system called the Signature Core Fiber Optic Cabling System that offers signal reliability and proven optical performance past 8/16 Gb/s Fibre Channel and 10/40/100 Gb/s Ethernet standards.
The system is a part of the complete High Speed Data Transport (HSDT) solutions provided by the company for maximum physical infrastructure.
The Signature Core is developed to offset the effects of chromatic dispersion and modal dispersion contributing to reduced total dispersion. The total dispersion reduction allows the highest system performance that surpasses every distance claim as assessed at an Ethernet interoperability show conducted recently. The normal multimode fiber optic cabling system can only reduce the modal dispersion effects, which is ultimately controlled by chromatic dispersion.
The Fiber Optic Cabling System’s sophisticated dispersion compensation technology uses a more advanced algorithm that is assessed by in-house testing utilizing Differential Mode Delay platforms and sophisticated Bit Error Rate with system collaborators.
The Fiber Optic Cabling System allows customers to use multimode fiber instead of singlemode fiber used in previous systems and thus reduces capital costs considerably. Customers can execute more sophisticated designs of future generation data center by using the new system as it enables them to install multiple connectors in the channel. The system gives more design options in available and new deployments for technology growth.
