GCL-Poly Energy Holdings’ subsidiary, GCL Solar Energy Technology Company has inked a supplemental polysilicon and wafer products supply deal with Trina Solar, a major producer of photovoltaic products from ingots, wafers and solar cells. Trina Solar signed the deal via its subsidiary, Changzhou Trina Solar Energy.
According to the existing and the supplemental long-term deals, GCL-Poly will deliver polysilicon and wafer products to Trina Solar to manufacture about 7,500 MW of solar PV modules over a period of five years. The products will be supplied to Trina Solar at fixed prices between January 2011 and December 2015. A price adjustment clause is also included in the deal.
The Vice President of Supply Chain Management at Trina Solar, Patrick Lu commented that the supplemental deal would support the company’s long-term sales strategy and market share improvement targets in 2011 and in future.
The President and Executive Director at GCL-Poly, Shu Hua said that the company would strengthen its position in the worldwide solar market by supplying ultra-quality polysilicon and wafers to Trina Solar.
