Manufacturer of lighting and power generator solutions, Multiquip has rolled out a new hydrogen fuel cell powered light tower with plasma light technology. The company will exhibit the light tower at the World of Concrete in Las Vegas from 18 to 21 January 2011.
The hydrogen fuel cell powered light tower offers a natural, clean light and does not contain any filament. The plasma light bulb consumes 255 W of power, delivers a light output of 22,000 lm with increased efficiency, and has a maximum operating life of 50,000 h. In addition, the light tower is suitable for indoor operation and can function for a maximum of 50 h with a 43 dB noise level at a distance of 23 ft.
Entertainment and film companies and the California Department of Transportation will use the light tower prototypes during major media functions. In addition, NASA will utilize the light tower prototypes at its forthcoming shuttle launch.
Multiquip’s VP of Product Management, Engineering and Customer Support, Torsten Erbel stated that the company is pleased to launch the hydrogen powered light tower that offers ease of operation and requires minimal maintenance.
