JDSU Establishes Optical Network Test Lab at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications

Provider of optical products, JSDU has started a scholarship program and an optical network test lab at a research-oriented university, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT).

The Chairman of the University Board at BUPT, Dr. Wang Yajie and the CEO and President at JDSU, Tom Waechter attended the inauguration ceremony of the optical test lab in Beijing.

JDSU offers communications test systems for fiber-optic networks. The company has offered various instruments for the new lab that facilitates real-time testing for entire phases of optical network development. In addition, the company has provided funds to an annual scholarship program dedicated to the students at BUPT for advanced engineering and telecommunications degrees.

Waechter stated that the collaboration of JSDU and BUPT demonstrates the company’s commitment to meet the development of advanced optic networks across the globe and in China. He added that the company is delighted to work with BUPT and is looking forward to communications network of the future.
