Planar Systems announced that it has launched a new range of touchscreen monitors to meet the requirements of the public access, point-of-purchase, and point-of-sale environments.
The Planar capacitive monitors feature an intuitive user interface and deliver precise information and can be integrated with various thin client and point-of-sale environments. The company unveiled the PT series of monitors at the National Retail Federation Convention.
The PT series monitors provide users with an enhanced reactive and sensitive touch technology. The monitors have a zero-bezel design that eradicates the constraints of a conventional monitor and enables users to access the entire surface area. The pure glass surface of the monitors offer enhanced image stability and optical quality. They are HID compliant and do not require drivers for basic touchscreen operation. The PT series monitors have mulit-touch capability and come with a USB controller. They are available in various sizes such as 22”, 19”, 17”, and 15”.
Planar, in addition to the PT monitors, has also unveiled a new range of Surface Acoustic Wave, Projected Capacitive, Capacitive, and Resistive Touchscreen LCDs to meet the requirements of high traffic retail environments. The touchscreens facilitate precise, intuitive, and swift point-of-sale transactions.
