Provider of fiber optical devices, GAO Fiber Optics has rolled out a new optical multi-meter for maintenance in fiber optic, CATV and telecommunications applications.
The 5602 optical multi-meter is useful to test fiber optic equipment and cables, and includes a large memory capacity for data storage.
The multi-meter combines the features of a stable light source module and an intelligent optical power meter in a single device. The light source functions at 1550 and 1310 nm dual wavelengths, whereas the power meter can provide calibrations at the wavelengths of 1550, 1490, 1310, 1300, 980 and 850 nm.
The energy-efficient optical multi-meter operates for a minimum of 6 h while the light source and power meter are under operation. The device shut downs automatically if it does not operate for 10 min. The 5602 multi-meter is available with a wide range of power meter and light source options. In addition, it provides ST, SC and FC interchangeable connectors to offer selection.
