Casio Introduces Data Projector with Laser and LED Hybrid Light Engine at CES 2011

Casio has displayed its latest data projector, Green Slim XJ-A250 with LED and Laser Hybrid light engine, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2011.

The new version of light engine can generate a maximum of 3,000 lm than mercury lamps used in conventional data projectors. Casio’s latest model is more superior to previous version, Green Slim XJ-A145U that can produce 2,500 lm.

The XJ-A250’s weighs five pounds and features HDMI direct digital input and 2X optical zoom. The Laser and LED Hybrid light engine uses a fluorescent element with blue laser light to produce a maximum output of green light. The blue laser light, green light and red LED’s light are projected via a Digital Light Processing (DLP) chip and then transmitted via the projection lens to produce an image.

The Laser and LED Hybrid light engine attains 50% more color spectrum when compared to a mercury lamp. It also reduces the price of the projector. The light engine has a projected lifespan of 20,000 h, which is approximately 10 times than that of Casio's mercury lamp solutions.
