Toshiba Introduces IK-HD 1 Cameras for Feature Film Projection Playback

Developer of HD camera technology, Toshiba Imaging Systems Division has launched IK-HD1 HD cameras that capture feature film background plates for projection playback. The company’s collection of HD cameras incorporates both CMOS and 3CCD sensor models.

The HD camera models have various kinds of remote head features and selectable outputs, making them suitable for broadcast applications such as 3D production, reality TV and sports. The cameras are also ideal for microscopy, military and defense, machine vision, aviation/aerospace and life science applications.

A California-based company, 24frame.com, chose Toshiba’s HD cameras to capture moving plates for feature film projection playback.

24frame.com’s Chief Executive Officer, Robert Chartier stated that Toshiba Imaging’s IK-HD1 cameras provide high accuracy even at night and are ideal for utilization in feature films. He added that the company is pleased to integrate the HD camera technology into its advanced camera rigging.
