Opnext, provider of next-generation optical solutions, has rolled out a new high power laser with an inbuilt monitor photo diode. The 120 mW HL63142DG laser diode is ideal for military and industrial applications such as military target acquisition.
The laser diode attains optimal performance by allowing system designer to examine the performance of the laser and alter the output power.
The HL63142DG inbuilt photo diode utilizes a unique design and enables system designers to manage the optical performance by examining the photo diode current and by altering the power variants and temperature. The laser diode operates at a maximum temperature of 50 °C in the wavelength band of 637 mm in a TO industry package.
Opnext’s President of Devices Business Unit, Tadayuki Kanno stated that the initial demand for the laser diode would be from military target acquisition-type applications. He added that the industry is moving towards manufacturing laser diodes that consume less energy and deliver high power.
Opnext’s laser diodes consume less operating current, extend battery life and maintain laser diode power integrity in various applications.
