Panasonic has launched two LUMIX models that are ideal for consumers requiring a camera without various video and photo features.
The new 14.1 MP LUMIX DMC-FP5 and the 16.1 MP LUMIX DMC-FP7 cameras incorporate a very thin 4x optical zoom lens. Both the cameras feature an Intelligent Auto function, large touch-control LCDs, and 720p HD video recording.
The LUMIX FP5 camera has a 3” 3:2 LCD screen whereas the LUMIX FP7 camera has a 3.5” 16:9 LCD screen. Both the models have Smart Touch Screens that allows users to enable Intelligent Scene Selector, Touch Shutter, Touch Zoom, and Touch Auto Focus.
The LUMIX FP7 camera also features three modes (Beauty Retouch mode, Esthetic mode, and Make-up mode) that allows users to edit photos manually.
The LUMIX FP5 and LUMIX FP7 cameras have a Venus Engine VI image processor with an Intelligent Resolution technology. The FP7 camera has a shutter release lag time of 0.006 sec whereas the FP5 camera has a lag time of 0.005 sec.
The folded optics design allows the cameras to maintain a 4x optical zoom. In addition, the cameras’ Intelligent Zoom function enables the optical zoom to be increased to 5x. The cameras also have an inbuilt memory of 70 MB, an intelligent LCD display, and a LUMIX Image Uploader.
