KDDI Introduces IS03 Smartphone with Multi-Touch Touchscreen

Cypress Semiconductor, a company specializing in PSoC solutions, announced that the TrueTouch device uses the multi-touch touchscreen in KDDI’s IS03 smartphone. Sharp Communication Systems manufactured the smartphone that provides a precise and responsive 3.5’’ LCD display screen.

The IS03 solution includes a 9.6 MP camera and provides infrared communications, GPS support, quick web browsing, and e-mail support. It uses the Android 2.1 operating system and supports numerous Android applications.

Cypress’ TrueTouch controller series customized by IS03 provide a built-in analog sensing engine for quick and precise touchscreen experience. The increased responsiveness enables simultaneous tracking of numerous fingers without user delays and with precise x-y locations. In addition, the devices provide minimal power consumption and better noise immunity.
