Panasonic Solutions has started the delivery of a new 4/3’’ video camcorder that is specifically designed for HD video recording. The AG-AF100 is suitable for video and film production communities and provides professional audio capabilities, variable frame rates, 1080/24p native recording, and enhanced video handling.
The 1080/720 production camera is compatible with SDXC and SDHC media and includes a 4/3’’ 16:9 MOS imager that reduces skew with rapid imager scanning. It records 720 at 24p, 25p, 30p, 50p, and 60p native and 1080 at 50i, 60i, 24P (Native), 25P (Native), and 30P in AVCHD’s PH mode at up to 24Mbps rate. In addition, the camera records in AVCCAM’s HE and HA modes at 6 Mbps and 17 Mbps, respectively.
The AF100 has an interchangeable micro 4/3’’ lens mount and can use numerous cost-effective still camera lenses and film-style lenses having fixed primes and focal lengths. Furthermore, it is 50 and 60 Hz switchable and comes in 1080p resolution with options of 20 steps from 12p to 50p and 12p to 60p at 50 Hz and 60 Hz, respectively. The AG-AF100 includes switchable XLR inputs, two mic/lines, +48 V Phantom Power function, and an integrated stereo microphone.
