Wavelength Electronics Rolls Out Quantum Cascade Laser Drivers

Wavelength Electronics has rolled out a new series of Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) Drivers that provides sub-microamp RMS noise.

QCL Driver

The QCL drivers also decrease the center wavelength jitter, spectral drift, and linewidth. They are designed as an OEM controller and are utilized on a benchtop or in field-deployed systems.

The QCL1000 1 A laser driver, a component of the QCL driver series, offers 0.7 mA RMS over a 100 kHz bandwidth. The bandwidth of the QCL drivers is 2 to 3 MHz. They have a rise and fall time of 250 / 200 nsec.

The QCL Series drives a maximum of 2 A low noise current and has core safety features that include overvoltage/ reverse voltage/ brownout protection, slow start, and current limit. They provide substantially better performance and are compact in size, when compared to a device. The application notes, included with the product, help users to decrease the noise in demanding applications.
