Telecable to Deploy 100 Mbps Fiber-Optic Network Services in 2011

Telecable, a Spain-based cable operator, has published details about its forthcoming fiber-optic network installation services. The company’s President, Juan Garcia Conde stated that the collaboration with the Extremadura regional government will allow them to initiate the network deployment operations in March 2011.

Telecable is also planning to provide 100 Mbps FTTH network connections to 37 communities in Spain. The 100 Mbps connections will be initially offered to the municipalities of Caceres, Merida, Badajoz and Plasencia. The optical fiber network trials will be conducted in 2011 and the network will be commercially launched in autumn 2011.

The company, over the next three years, aspires to deliver 100 Mbps services to over 18,900 residential customers and 2,700 business customers. The total investments for the fiber-optic network installation will surpass 150 million Euros.
