Visteon, global automotive supplier, has integrated a new microprocessor in its advanced multi-function displays (MFD) platform, thus expanding its abilities to develop multi-function displays for vehicles.
The multi-function displays, mounted on the instrument panel of the vehicle, offer various data to drivers as integration with external cameras, navigation devices, and radios; or as stand-alone displays. Visteon used a Renesas Electronics microprocessor to provide economical MFD devices for vehicle manufacturers.
The minimization of complexity and components can reduce the engineering and design time and can result in effective utilization of vehicle space. The multi-function display has a serial flash interface to speed up data transfer and information access. It also features a decoder for applications in-vehicle cameras.
In addition, the multi-function display platform is complies with OpenVG and can support Wide Video Graphics Array (WVGA) TFT displays.
