GAO Fiber Optics Launches 5102 Fiber Optical Visual Fault Locator

GAO Fiber Optics has introduced a new pen style fiber optical visual fault locator for field personnel. The 5102 fault locator serves as a cost-effective and efficient tool for continuity checking, fiber routing, and fiber tracing in optical networks.

5102 Pen Style Fiber Optical Visual Fault Locator

The fiber optical visual fault locator determines bending, poor connections and breaks in optical cables; finds faults on an OTDR dead zone; and executes end-to-end visual fiber identification. It supports pulse and CW operating modes, and has a constant power output. In addition, the device works at 650nm ±10nm central wavelength and is available with a 2.5mm universal connector and an FP-LD emitter.

The portable visual fault locator is resistant to dust and drop, and features a laser case ground design that avoids ESD damage. The 5102 fiber optical visual fault locator is compliant to the CE standards such as ROHS, EMI and EMC. In addition, it uses two AA-sized alkaline batteries and works for a maximum of 60 h.
