AboveNet Deploys Fiber-Optic Network Rings from Seattle to Tukwila

Provider of high-bandwidth solutions, AboveNet is expanding its high-performance fiber-optic network in Seattle, Washington. The new fiber-optic rings will offer low latency routes from Seattle to the city of Tukwila, and incorporate connections into the American Life data center.

Seattle’s fiber-optic network presently spans 250 route miles and stretches from Mukilteo to Tacoma. The network features routes around Lake Washington and throughout Redmond, Kirkland, Bellevue, and Seattle.

Customers in Seattle will have access to AboveNet's fiber optic footprint in vital business centers in Europe and the U.S. AboveNet's infrastructure incorporates a global Tier 1 IP backbone, an intercity network that spans nearly 12,000 route miles and over 2.3 million fiber miles.

AboveNet’s Executive Director of Pacific Region Sales, Xenophon Giannis stated that the company’s high performance network offers customers with enhanced network diversity and is an ideal alternative to the present 80-mile fiber ring.
