Chinese Automaker Selects Creaform’s Handyscan 3D Laser Scanner

Creaform has shipped its 1500th Handyscan 3D laser scanner to Daimler Automotive, a China-based car manufacturer. The Handyscan 3D scanner belongs to the MAXscan laser scanner product line that is suitable for use with large parts.

Daimler Automotive will utilize the MAXscan laser scanner to check parts; execute gap and flush analysis; and to quality control passenger compartments and sheet metal. The company has expanded its quality control devices with the HandyPROBE portable optical CMM.

Creaform’s President, Charles Mony stated that the sale of the 1500th Handyscan scanner is significant for the company. He added that the company has recently launched the MetraSCAN optical CMM 3D scanner.
