Transmode Expands Native Packet Optical Series with EMXP II 80 Ethernet Muxponder

Transmode has released a new Ethernet muxponder for applications including business Ethernet, video distribution, mobile backhaul, and Ethernet aggregation services. The launch of the EMXP II 80 muxponder expands the company’s EMXP II series.

The 8 x 10G Layer 2 Ethernet muxponder is released as part of Transmode’s Native Packet Optical product line. The EMXP II series addresses the transport Ethernet applications in a Native Packet Optical architecture. In addition, the family offers benefits including SyncE support and low latency. Transmode’s EMXP II series comes in three versions, namely, the high capacity unit that features 8x10G Ethernet ports; and the other two with 10 or 22 Gigabit Ethernet ports or  2x10G Ethernet ports.

Transmode’s CTO, Sten Nordell stated that the EMXP II 80 expands the Layer 2 Ethernet abilities to high capacity networks. He added that the system is currently under operation in consumer labs.
