Luxembourg Telecom Selects MRV’s WDM and Optical Transport System for Network Expansion

Luxembourg Telecom, provider of data center interconnect services, will utilize MRV Communications’ optical communication systems to expand the data center services over a reliable and scalable fiber-optic network.

Earlier, MRV had announced that Luxembourg telecom had chosen its LambdaDriver wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) to develop an optical fiber network to link all its data centers in Luxembourg.

Luxembourg Telecom, by executing MRV’s OptiSwitch Carrier Ethernet solution along with the LambdaDriver WDM solution, will obtain the advantages of high-precision, resilient, scalable and cost-effective service visibility of SLA monitoring at nano-second resolution.

Interdata, a subsidiary of MRV, served as Luxembourg Telecom’s strategic partner and helped the firm to integrate the project with enhanced professional services.

MRV’s President of the Optical Communications Systems Group, Barry R. Gorsun stated that the company is delighted to build a strong relationship with Luxembourg Telecom.

The Sales Director of Luxembourg Telecom, Vincent Nicolay commented that MRV’s products have satisfied the versatility demanded by customers. The fiber-optic network would decrease costs for its customers based outside Luxembourg, he said.
