Provider of fiber optical devices, GAO Fiber Optics has introduced a new SFP-GE-L Cisco compatible transceiver. The device supports Fiber Channel, Sonet/SDH and Ethernet applications over all Cisco routing and switching platforms.
The transceiver is suitable for storage area networks; metropolitan ring and area access networks; campuses and data centers.
The hot swappable 1000Base-LX SFP input/output instrument can be plugged within a Gigabit Ethernet slot/port to connect the slot with an optical fiber network. The hot pluggable transceiver offers various functions for physical network connectivity such as wave division multiplexing systems, Ethernet routing and switching equipment, cross-connects, distance extenders and media converters. In addition, the transceiver complies with the IEEE 802.3z 1000BaseLX standard.
The SFP-GE-L Cisco compatible transceiver works on single-mode optical links as long as 10 km and a maximum of 550 m on multimode fibers. Furthermore, the SFPs can be utilized on various Cisco solutions.
