Haas Technology Unveils Patent Pending Optic Design

Haas Technology has launched a new patent pending optic design called the TLC Objective. The optic design passively balances thermal lensing of focusing lenses and high-power collimators.

Thermal lensing for high-power lasers is minimized below the Rayleigh range specified for the lens design. This is done by using unique optic design and optical materials. The TLC Objective balances the temperature coefficient of refractive index (dn/dT) among several optical materials, thereby maximizing curvatures, air spacing and thicknesses to reduce thermal lensing, irrespective of temperature. The optical device remains in focus during the entire operation.
