HP Color LaserJet Printers Equipped with Monotype Imaging’s Embedded Font Solution

Text imaging solution provider, Monotype Imaging declared that its new, improved embedded font solution has been integrated in HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CP5520 printer and the Color LaserJet Enterprise CM4540 multifunction printer.

The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise product line includes the company’s WorldType and Andale Collection, and core fonts that are compatible with the HP PCL and Adobe PostScript printing languages.

In addition, the HP Color LaserJet Enterprise family features the Cambria and Calibri typeface families that are default fonts found in the Windows 7 operating system and the Microsoft Office 2007 software package. HP has licensed a compilation of server-based fonts from Monotype Imaging, as part of HP’s ePrint program to enable printing from mobile devices.

Furthermore, HP has used the global text solution from Monotype Imaging to render texts on control panel displays. The solution features a Universal Font Scaling Technology subsystem (UFST) that is integrated with the SmartHint font technology. This technology enables a character output based on black-and-white strokes in a small footprint of memory.s
