Panasonic Group Opens New Lighting Facility in Serbia

Panasonic Electric Works has opened a new company to develop energy-saving electronic appliances for lighting fixtures. The new company called Panasonic Electric Works Vossloh-Schwabe Serbia is located in Svilajnac, the Republic of Serbia.

The company will start the volume production by January 2011 to improve the business of lighting devices in Europe. The country is currently looking for ways to improve its energy efficiency.

The production company would improve the manufacturing capabilities in the Republic of Serbia and minimize the costs by changing the outsourcing production of electronic ballast to in-house production.

According to Panasonic, the new facility marks the company’s first production unit in Serbia.
