GAO Comm, provider of communication test devices, announced that it has introduced a new handheld power meter that is suitable for measuring the relative loss and absolute power of fiber-optic cables.
The 5302 handheld power meter is utilized for CATV and telecommunication maintenance and in optical fiber testing laboratories. It features efficient data storage, automatic frequency identification and precise test results.
The power meter tests the optical power present within a wavelength ranging from 800 and 1650 nm. It has a large LCD screen that displays the test results. The power meter also provides pre-calibrated wavelengths that include 1550, 1490, 1310, 1300, 980 and 850 nm for selection. It supports an identification frequency range between 10 and 60 kHz. It also supports a diverse optical power measurement range between -70 dBm and 6 dBm.
The 5302 power meter features a swift response time and consumes minimum power because of its auto-off function. It has a RS232 communication port that is used for data exchange purposes. The power meter dust and water resistant and is ideal for field use.
