Provider of optical networking solutions, Transmode announced that FarEasTone has installed a TM-Series Intelligent Wavelength Division Multiplexing (iWDM) metro network in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. FarEasTone is a mobile service provider in Taiwan.
FarEasTone has installed Transmode's iWDM optical networking platform to allow the delivery of high-capacity, reliable transport services in Taipei. The network infrastructure will be primarily utilized for fixed-network traffic. FarEasTone selected the TM-Series platform after carrying out exact testing procedures, in which scalability and versatility were major selection criteria. The company’s network team worked with Opnet Technologies and Transmode to deploy a scalable, robust and cost-efficient solution for a six-node point-to-point network.
Transmode's Vice-President of Sales, Bjorn Anderson stated that the demand and growth rate for mobile and fixed broadband in the Asian continent is huge.
The network deployment is an illustration of how the iWDM device can enhance the utilization of optical networking infrastructure to help operators improve the service levels cost-effectively.
FarEasTone’s Manager of the Network and Solution Planning Department, Richard Tseng commented that the company is pleased with the solution provided by Opnet and Transmode. Tseng added that the solution has enabled the company to enhance its service and connectivity for its customers.
