LG Display, QD Vision to Co-Develop QLED-Based Active Matrix Displays

LG Display, a company specializing in OLEDs and TFT-LCD panels, and QD Vision, lighting and display solutions provider, have collaborated to develop active matrix displays. The new displays will be developed on the basis of the electroluminescent quantum dot LED (QLED) nanotechnology.

The displays will utile minimum energy compared to existing solutions and will create bright and vivid colors. The display devices will use the QD Vision’s patterned thin films quantum dots to produce an active matrix display. Furthermore, the technology would reduce the production costs of displays, thereby reducing the overall manufacturing process of displays.

Quantum dots can be processed within a solution and offer reliability and stability as similar to inorganic semiconductor materials. This feature allows efficient production of advanced electroluminescent displays with enhanced stability, efficiency and color.
