Maxivision Introduces Laser Treatment for Presbyopia

Hyderabad-based Maxivision Eye Hospital has unveiled a new laser technology for treating Presbyopia or near vision. The Intracor and Supracor technology corrects presbyopia and eliminates the need of biofocals, reading and progressive glasses.

Technolas Perfect Vision, a German-based company specializing in ophthalmology lasers, developed the Intracor and Supracor technology. In order to develop the laser technology, the company has invested $40 million. The Intracor and Supracor technology helps in curing the disease in short time duration.

Maxivision Eye Hospital’s Chief Operating Officer, Kasu Prasada Reddy stated that the laser treatment is intended for people in the age group of 40-65 years, looking for a solution to remove their glasses. Reddy added that about 20% of the people around the globe suffer from Presbyopia.
