IDS Unveils High-Resolution Cameras at Vision 2010

IDS Imaging Development Systems, manufacturer of industrial cameras, has unveiled new high-resolution cameras with GigE and USB connections at the VISION 2010 Expo.

Camera Systems

The UI-6280 and UI-2280 series have a Sony Sensor ICX-655 with a resolution of 5 MP. The sensor features a global shutter mode and assures blur-free image capture of fast-moving objects. The GigE version delivers maximum frame rates of 10 fps, while the USB model offers a maximum of 6.5 fps.

The cameras come in various housing options, either in color or monochrome versions. The swift frame rate, the global shutter technology and high resolution make the cameras ideal for various image-processing applications.

All cameras, in trigger mode, attain the same kind of speed as in the freerun mode. Higher frame rates can be achieved when binning is utilized or when an Area of Interest is set. Cameras with the GigE interface transfer the entire color depth of 12 bits.

The CCD sensor’s 3.45 µm pixels assure high light sensitivity and the huge pixel pitch enables easy selection of the right type of lenses. The cameras’ compact size makes them ideal for microscopic applications, and they can replace the Sony Sensor ICX-285 cameras, which provide one-fourth resolution at the same size.
