Research and Markets Releases New Book on Fiber-Optic Communication Systems

Research and Markets has published a new book titled ‘Fiber-Optic Communication Systems, 4th Edition’. The book offers a complete study of the fiber-optic communication systems.

The author of the book is Govind P. Agrawal who is a Senior Scientist at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics. This book describes the recent developments in the fiber-optic communication systems and analyzes them in two separate chapters.

The first chapter addresses the latest modulation formats such as QAM, QPSK, and DPSK that are utilized to enhance the WDM lightwave systems’ spectral efficiency. The other chapter describes the new methods such as all-optical regeneration that could be utilized in communication systems in the future.

The key topics mentioned in the book are optical signal processing, advanced lightwave systems, control of nonlinear effects, dispersion management, loss management, multichannel systems, lightwave systems, optical receivers, optical transmitters, optical fibers, software package, and  general formula for pulse broadening.
