Upper Merion Township Awards LED Lighting Project to Stouch Lighting

Upper Merion Township in Pennsylvania has selected Stouch Lighting to deliver and install LED fixtures in municipal parking lot and parking garage. The energy-efficient lighting fixtures will improve the quality of lighting and will fulfill the township’s goals to produce energy savings and enhance the security for the township.

The new lighting retrofit project is scheduled to conclude by the end of November this year. For the project, Stouch Lighting has used 29 70 W LED recessed troffer fixtures to replace 40 175 W metal halide fixtures in the parking garage. The installation of LED lighting has resulted in increased illumination levels and has minimized energy consumption by 75%.

In addition, Stouch lighting will retrofit 43 175 W metal halide pole lights with 43 53 W LED parking lot lights. The LED lighting will reduce 70% of energy consumption and will enhance the light levels in the parking lot. At present, the lights have been installed and being operated in 10 parking lots.

The LED lights used for the project are maintenance-free fixtures that do not require any ballasts and lamps for replacement. In addition, the fixtures have up to 20 years of life expectancy with more than 50,000 h of lamp life.
