GAO Tek has launched a new cable fault locator, 6130 CATV, with a built-in LCD screen. The fault locator uses the Time Domain Reflection (TDR) technology for displaying the TDR picture on the screen.
The CATV cable fault locator is useful in finding cable faults like resistance joints, open circuits, and short circuits. In addition, the device displays the precise fault distance.
The fault locator tests underground cables to identify impedance break points found in HFC systems. Furthermore, the device locates and shows terminal impedance failure, tie-in dampness, and cable damages.
The cable fault locator examines the cable status using the analysis software, and is connectable to a PC for data analysis and file upload. The fault locator tests cables of 100, 75, 50 and 25 Ohm impedance over a long measurement range of 15-2000 m. In addition, the device offers an electronic map related to time domain picture, enabling easy detection of faults.
