Manufacturer of sophisticated machining technologies, Winbro Group Technologies announced that it has obtained JK Lasers’ new, improved JK604D laser device. The enhanced laser device, developed in the UK, has been integrated with a laser-drilling machine, Winbro DELTA.
According to JK Lasers, the laser device provides more focusability, higher peak power and greater peak power densities. The device can be utilized for process development of various turbine components that need cooling holes in the industrial and aero gas turbine industries. The turbine components include combustors, flame tubes, segments, vanes, and turbine blades.
Winbro chose the JK604D laser because it offers high beam quality when compared to other lasers. This enables manufacturers to drill high-quality cooling holes with a versatile profile range, with decreased heat affected zones and decreased cycle times. Winbro is planning to deploy the JK604D device in the South Carolina facility.
JK Lasers supplies laser processing solutions for the semiconductor, electronics, automotive, aerospace and medical device industries.
